Sports metadata for your EPG
We identify every object from raw text into catalogs: sport type, championship, stage, teams, live broadcast flag — each with a unique ID.
The Problem
Channels send sports events as a single unstructured text string. There is no standard: every channel writes differently, the live broadcast flag appears in different parts of the text with different wording. Parsing produces false positives, and manual tagging doesn't scale.
How it works
We receive raw text descriptions of sports events from channel schedules
Identify each object into a catalog: sport type, championship, stage, teams
Determine live broadcast flag — live or rerun
Assign significance rating: finals, derbies, playoffs — higher, regular matchday — standard
Each object gets a unique ID and links to other objects
You get structured data via API — ready for search, navigation and recommendations
Benefits
Search & filtering
Subscriber searches by team, championship, sport type — finds all broadcasts across all channels
Live or rerun
Subscriber instantly sees: live broadcast or recording. No guessing or channel-switching needed
Recommendations
System knows what subscriber watches and suggests similar sports on other channels. Without object IDs this is impossible
Deduplication
Same match on multiple channels linked by a single ID. Subscriber sees all viewing options
Analytics
Which sport types, championships and teams are popular with audience. Raw text can't be aggregated
Significance rating
Champions League final, derby, playoffs — get high rating. For "top events of the week", push notifications and EPG prioritization
